7 Reasons to Visit Drive Shack with Kids
Trying to decide where to go for your next family outing? Let me help you: Drive Shack!
Morning, noon, or night, at Drive Shack they're combining the best of both worlds: entertainment and family fun.
So what exactly is Drive Shack? Drive Shack is a new, outdoor golf entertainment complex with music, games, good food, and personalized service the WHOLE family can enjoy.
And the best part? Even if you're not into golf (like me!) you WILL have fun!
Still unsure it's for you? Here are seven reasons why you should consider visiting Drive Shack for your next family adventure.
1. Fun Atmosphere
What's better than a little friendly competition? Bringing the fun outdoors! Add in music, private gaming bays with TVs, and an electric energy, and you've got a recipe for success. (Think bowling but in an outdoor venue.)
At Drive Shack they strive to create an enjoyable experience from start to finish. And guess what? They nailed it. All around us other parties were smiling, laughing, and having some good ol' fashioned fun. And as the sun began to fade, the range transformed into a field of neon lights.
Whether you're a scratch golfer or have no clue how to hold a club, skill comes second to fun at Drive Shack. Try your luck with a classic like blackjack, or for those experienced golfers, play one of their more advanced courses. And although the kids are still a bit too young to hit the ball far enough to hit the targets, they had a blast at the idea of saving baby dragons in 'Monster Hunt.'
** Pro-tip: Don't worry about hauling your own equipment as they provide custom men's, women's, and kids clubs free of charge.
3. More Games
Need a break from golf? Head upstairs for some nostalgia as the roof deck arcade has games like PAC-Man, basketball, fooseball, and more.
4. The Food
When’s the last time you had a good meal at a sports complex? If you’re like me, probably never. Until Drive Shack that is. Their chef-inspired foods were definitely a crowd-pleaser. From mouth-watering appetizers like Bavarian pretzel sticks, flatbreads, to fresh salads, burgers, and a diverse kids menu, the only problem you'll face is trying to decide what to eat!
The kids favorites, the homemade ice cream sandwiches!
5. Exceptional Service
The customer service at Drive Shack is top notch. We visited on a Thursday evening and I was surprised by how busy it was. Despite a packed house, there were plenty of friendly staff members eager to assist with our young crew. It seemed like every few minutes someone was popping by to refill drinks, clear plates, bring the kids crayons and paper, or assist us with the games.
Overall the service was prompt and the staff went the extra mile to accommodate our needs (and drink spills!). But, it was the little extras, like how they gave each child a personalized golf ball at the end of our visit, that took if to another level.
Drive Shack Raleigh opened in late August of this year, so it is BRAND NEW. Needless to say, it is a clean environment with brightly decorated walls and comfortable seating that adds to its curb appeal. The open air environment is refreshing, and even as the temperatures dip lower, there are space heaters at each bay to keep warm.
Throughout the year, they host numerous family focused events. Last weekend they held a 'Halloween Boo Bash' with trick-or-treating, face painting, and kids ate free! Up next is ’Selfies with Santa.' Pop in to get your holiday selfie with Saint Nick and be entered to win one of their surprise giveaways.
Whether you're a golf aficionado or can barely swing a club, it really doesn't matter because at Drive Shack there are endless ways to have fun. It is a great change of pace from your standard museum, park, or simply going out to eat. The kids got to test of their golf skills, try their luck at some old school arcade games, AND not be cooped up indoors!
Although it is a large complex, there is no need to bring strollers or other carrying devices (which is always a win). Drive Shack truly is a one-stop shop for good food, great service, and a little friendly competition.
And stay tuned as the company is expanding quickly and locations are popping up all across the US.
